Eastern Metalhead
This is a smart looking BMX, the designers at Eastern did their homework on this model. The two colors of satin black or ham burgundy (basically a nice pink) do show off the characteristics of this bicycle.
The Eastern Metalhead is packed with features, and you can quickly ascertain that this BMX is for the more challenge seeking riders, and its robust but light weight will give you a performance enhancing experience either on the flats or doing Big Air.
Specs – Well where to begin? There is a lot to this bike; there is the frames lifetime warranty and lifetime upgrade policy as per Eastern standard. The frame is actually 4130 Chromoly both at the top and the down tube that features an integrated Grim Reaper seatpost clamp. The stem is the Eastern Choker II which has the Internal Wedge Clamping System; it has also had some of the external removed to save on weight.
The forks are tidy with the tapered legs of Eastern Full 4130 Chromoly, including 990 mounts and the new Hangfree Dropout design incorporated. The bicycles peddles are made from Eastern Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic which add durability, these are housed on the original version of the Eastern 25T Medusa Alloy Sprocket.
The front wheel rim is made from Weinmann Alloy with the Eastern Forged Alloy Shell and a 3/8" Chromoly Axle. The rear rim is made up of the ever durable Kinlin Double Wall Alloy and the long lasting Eastern Original LB-9 Cassette, both of them are fitted with Kenda 20” x 2.1” tires.
There are also present a detangler, 2 Eastern Bird Pegs, 9T One Piece Driver with 6 Pawls at freewheel showing off its 15 degree engagement and a sealed mechanism.
Conclusion – The Eastern Metalhead is a dynamic piece of freestyle or flat riding equipment. It is a jump up from some of the other Eastern models and certainly will bring out the best from riders of mid –level experience and pros alike. A great BMX to have around in your collection!
