Eastern Traildigger 24/26
The Eastern Traildigger its in the name, this is a BMX more suited to the flats or an intermediate level trail run. The geometry is low on both the 24 and the 26, you will certainly be able to Can – Can but Big Air is going to take some strength as the bike is not super light weighing in at an average of between 27.4lbs and 29lbs.
These bikes will build up your stamina and strength so is perfect for those off the quarter-pipe days or just taking a general cruise around. Still they are in keeping with the Eastern tradition with its quality set up and these two sizes are the Mom and Dad of the 20, but it does look however that black and pink is kink this year folks although there is a Chrome Plate version that looks quite neat!
Specs – You can see just by looking at the bike it is built for endurance and strength, it has the makings of a very robust and reliable piece of equipment. The low geometry frame is the usual 4130 Chromoly with the Eastern Lifetime Warranty and Lifetime Upgrade Policy. The forks are Eastern Full 4130 Chromoly stretching up a notch at 26”, Easterns Steel 25T Medusa Sprocket, the tires are Kendra not chunky at all these are definitely road tires being they are small block grip so a quick modification is in order for the trail. These are fitted onto the Weinmann Alloy rim at the front and the Weinmann Double Wall Alloy DM30 at the rear, so the BMX is equipped to be strong.
The braking system is Tektro, but is the more trail friendly Tektro Alloy Linear Pull Brake and the levers are the Tektro design for pull brakes which makes complete sense. No pegs or detangler, some of the non-essentials are probably left off to keep the weight down to a reasonable level or we would be talking Mountain Bike rather than BMX.
Conclusion – It is definitely different, dont let the weight put you off if you are just going to be riding flats or the trail as it is not a super heavy bike. It actually weighs less than some of its competitors on the trail. Youll still get a good amount of your trick inventory out, and if you can manage to pull off a few tricks on the ramps youll be the envy of your friends. Riding the Eastern Traildigger you are going to surely build up your strength and stamina, so expect your crew to be puffing and panting while you sit back and cruise.
