GT Bump

This is another dirt and street bike in the guise of the 2009 GT Bump. The bike is not really designed for the ramps, but it will race in the dirt. It has some power and is not the lightest of BMXs, but does have a lot going for it in the toughness stakes.
You can actually throw a few modifications on the Bump and it will be much better than the beginners bike tag that it seems to have developed. Agreed – this is a bike that a new rider will develop his or her skills on. The Bump is smooth and has a pretty easy going gear setting plus this little guy can whip.
Specs – The frame is a 2009 GT dirt and street design with mid size BB shell and a Chromoly down tube, like I said not the lightest frame but it is tough. The forks are fully Chromoly 2008 design GT dirt and street goodness with small dropouts and the stem is an aluminum cold forged GT FS with a machined GT logo. Also lovingly thrown onto this machine is a set of GT 7” rise 2007 dual radius dirt and street Chromoly handlebars with GT shroom grips. GT have also given you the GT 3 piece tubular Chromoly crank with thread in chain wheel pin, single bolt clamping and 8 spline. You get the Tektro 907-A aluminum coil sprung U-brake with Tektro 274-A single lever.
Alienation brings you the PBR aluminum rims which are 32-hole on the front and 36-hole at the rear. The front hubs are GT branded forged in aluminum with a 3/8” Chromoly axle, the rear hub is a GT cassette hub with a 14mm axle.
Conclusion – This is a great dirt bike for the first time rider, it has some nice specs to start with, but you can grow the bike with you, just modify it as you go along. Most experienced riders are going to rip the bike to shreds; you may learn something from one of them if you let them help you out. The gloss purple is a very nice color; the Bump is also available in a lush lemon.
