GT Fueler
Slap on 25/9 gearing and this is the perfect GT. The 2009 GT Fueler is widely regarded as one of the best of 2009 from its makers. Not only is it looking tight in it white color the overall design pretty much makes this BMX one of those for many a photo opportunity.
Dirt, street or skate-park, ramps, mud or track this is a quality bike. (Ouch it must be a crime to get this frame dirty!) Pro-Rider Steven Murray has the Fueler; ok it is tweaked but not so much that it matters. This is a strong BMX, it is certainly not heavy and on the technical side as standard it surpasses bikes in a similar price bracket. This is probably one of the finest dirt bikes GT have produced this year it has to be said.
Specs – 100% Chromoly frame dirt and street design for 2009 by GT with MID BB. The forks are 2008 GT dirt and street design in full Chromoly with small dropouts. The stem is GT FS forged aluminum with a machined GT logo and the handlebars are 2007 Chromoly GT dual radius dirt and street with a 7.67 inch rise. You get a TH No. 8-D Impact, Campy 1 – 1/8” integrated design headset. Now here is the one thing that the Performer does not have if you are going to try and compare it the Fueler – the crank has double bolt clamping and is the improved GT 3 piece tubular Chromoly design. The crank is 2008 GT 33T CNC aluminum and for extra weight loss it has cut out slices.
The front rim is Alienation Black Sheep with 32 hole-double wall in black color, and the rear has a 33mm width branded 32 hole-CP. The front hub is a 2005 GT design with cartridge sealed bearings and a 3/8” Chromoly axle. The rear is Joy Tech cassette with 4 cartridge sealed bearings and 14mm axle.
Conclusion – The specifications of the GT Fueler go on and on, it is a fantastic buy. This BMX is an intermediate to pro level ride, there are a few Pros who have taken to the Fueler, which in its self says a little about the bikes strength and reliability. Yes you may tweak it but it will still be a Fueler!
