GT Power Series Pro
The name “Power Series Pro” is something of a misnomer, since this incredibly popular bike is probably the most widely used BMX bike both on and off the track.
Though some may decry the Pro as little more than a base model Power Series, the fact is that even at its most basic this bike has a lot going for it. First is the ever-ready and ever strong T-6061 aircraft aluminum frame, the exact same type of aluminum used in Top Fuel dragster connecting rods. While not impossible to damage, this incredibly potent boxed frame has probably withstood more abuse from more 13 year olds than every school-bus driver on the planet. With its standard Alex wheels shod with grippy Kendra tires and 3-pice chromoly cranks, small wonder many have failed in trying to lead this stout bike to its trail beaten demise.
If the Pro has a weak point, its only that it is the least expensive in this model line, and therefore has room for improvement. Upgrading to the Power Series XL and Ultra models will yield better results on the race track, though unless the customer is actually competing it probably is not worth the price to upgrade. Realistically, bikes have a lot more to do with the rider than the hardware.
As many thousands of Power Pro riders can attest, in the right hands this bike delivers 90% of the performance of the Box Ultra at less than 40% of the cost. A fantastic bargain in anyones book.
