Mongoose is now offering a variety of different entry level bikes for young prospective riders. Continuing in this beginner vein is the Mischief. While the mischief shares many base level features of several entry level Mongoose bikes, it is an excellent option for anyone seeking to ride street style. This style consists of grinding various ledges, getting air over various jumps and grinding of coping/rails.
The Mischief features a heavy Hi-Ten frame that is known for being capable of taking a lot of abuse and still capable of making the ride home. A 36 spoke front wheel and 48 spoke rear wheel is very capable of taking the particular kind of punishment dealt out by ledges, rails and planter landings. The addition of a rotor also opens up the options for performing handlebar tricks. The beefy layout and components brings the bike weight to a hefty 30 plus pounds.
Mongoose works hard to appeal to a varied clientele of riders. If a beginner wishes to ride street by peg grinding rails and planters, the Mischief is an excellent start. With wear and tear individual components can be replaced but the stock setup is acceptable for any starting rider. The Mischief also includes a set of pegs which allow all kinds of grinding tricks.
