Mongoose Pit Crew
Over the last decade Mongoose has earned a reputation for reliability. In an attempt to diversify the companys products, the Pit Crew has been developed with smaller riders in mind. While this bike is lighter than most of the Mongoose line, it still has the reputation for durability that makes Mongoose a great brand.
The Pit Crew features a short Hi-Ten steel frame with small 36 spoke tires. Considering safety this bike includes front and rear U-brakes and a “shorty” saddle intended for small stature riders. Taking into account young riders interest in street and freestyle riding the Pit Crew includes two pegs and a rotor for handlebar tricks.
Despite the short frame the Pit Crew includes full size brake levers and pedals. The importance of these full size parts is that they will allow a growing youth the ability to use the same bike throughout their physical development. The inclusion of pegs and rotor allow the bike to be used in a multitude of styles that a young curious rider may wish to experiment.
While Mongoose scaled down the frame of the Pit Crew, most of the components are still standard size. The Pit Crew is specifically targeted to parents seeking a bike for long term use for their son or daughter.
